Sarah C.A. Schulman, SPHR, SHRM-CP
Human Resources Experience
Since 2005 I have owned a consulting firm specializing in the areas of human resources and management for nonprofit organizations. I have been doing human resource work for more than twenty years and still find it both interesting and rewarding. During my career I have had responsibility for all aspects of human resources, including being a Director of Finance and Operations and a one-person HR department. I am certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). I also have a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in HR Management. I am a graduate of Hofstra Law School.
Prior Employment Experience
From 2001-2005, I held the position of Director of Finance and Operations at the California Historical Society. Previously I held the positions of Director of Administration and Finance at the public-interest law firm, Public Advocates, and the same position at the public-interest law firm, The Public Interest Law Offices. In those positions, I had responsibility for all operations, HR and financial areas of the organizations. My financial responsibilities included: monthly financial statements, creation of annual budget, grants administration, yearly audit, business planning, tax filings, investments, endowments, general accounting, payroll, supervision of accounting staff, and leadership in all other day-to-day financial matters.
